T'Pau Greatest Hits Live
2003 saw the release of the eagerly awaited 'greatest hits live'. It was released under Carol's own label, Gnatfish Records.
Here is a quote from Carol regarding the release :
"This album was recorded with much energy and enthusiasm in some very sweaty clubs. It is very much warts and all, the odd bum note, the odd glitch. The frequent and embarassing stage patter. (I obviously thought I was a highway man, the amount of times I said "hands in the air!") But the passion is clear. We rocked and so did the crowds!
I thank my band, Will Ashurst, Richard Coates, Ryan Ward for running the website (tpau.co.uk) the families Decker and Coates for love and support. I thank my fans who just won't seem to let me go! If I have forgotton any one it is because I have two small noisy children and can't think straight. I apologise in advance.
Sorry it's taken so long to see the light of day.
Enjoy!
Love Carol".
The track listing was as follows :
- Island
- Monkey House
- The Promise
- Valentine
- Bridge of Spies
- Whenever You Need Me
- I Will Be With You
- Secret Garden
- Running Away
- Sex Talk
- Heart and Soul
- China In Your Hand
This album goes to prove just how much Carol is great live and gets the whole crowd involved. There is no doubt that Carol 'rocks' live, fact. She always has and always will!!
Not only is Carol's husband a top restaurateur, but he took all of the photos for the CD!!
Here is a few songs from the album I have picked out for you to listen to, which might tempt you into buying the album!! :
Island Live
The Promise Live
Whenever You Need Me Live
To sum the album up, Carol sings with such passion on the ballads, putting her emotions in them, as only Carol knows how to, and she then 'rocks the place out' with the rockier numbers, all the time getting full attention and participation from the audience!!

Mum's The Word
The Birth
It was the Spring of 1993 in Vancouver, Canada. Six women who had once been exciting, glamorous and professional actors were now exhausted, bedraggled amateur mothers with ten children under six between them. They decided to get together to write a show about motherhood.
They met regularly on Saturday mornings with their children. They talked, they laughed, they whined, they complained and they laughed some more. Suddenly their first performance was just three weeks away. Although they had nothing on paper, they felt enormously better about their children, their skills as mothers and their lives in general. They had reinvented group therapy. Luckily, in the ancient tradition of oral history, they remembered each other's stories and Mum's the Word was born.
Many years and more than ten thousand performances later, Mum's the World has crossed the international dateline and the equator.
The English run was from 08/03/2003 to 07/06/2003, and it starred :
- Carol Decker
- Jenny Eclair
- Patsy Palmer
- Barbara Pollard
- Imogen Stubbs
- Cathy Tyson
This was to be Carol's debut in the West-End!
Six mums come together to share their experiences about rearing their children in a series of humorous, moving and embarrassing stories - delivered as monologues - that reveal the truth about how parenthood changes your life.

2004
In 2004, an American band called 'Shadows Fade' released an album of the same name which included Carol's beautiful spine tingling "Now That You're Gone" from the album "Red".
Kevin Chalfant is the vocalist of the band, and he really does credit to the song. I would say the song is in quite similar genres with Carol and Shadows Fade's version, but it's definitely worth a listen. It's nice to hear a song Carol has written sung by another artist.
You can get the album via the usual channels, apart from iTunes. I definitely recommend it.
